Ipswich River Paddling Guide & Map
The Ipswich River is widely recognized as one of the premier paddling destinations in New England, and in order to help you get out and enjoy it we have updated our Ipswich River Paddling Guide and Map. The map is available for $5 at our headquarters in Ipswich, 143 County Road, at local retailers or online ($10 minimum). This beautiful 18″ x 24” double-sided color map and interpretive guide can be used in the field or electronically. The back of the map features 6 trip itineraries with all the information you need for a successful paddling experience. The map lists 22 public access launch sites and rest stops from Woburn Street in Wilmington to the center of town in Ipswich, and then on out to the estuary where the river meets the sea. The distances between the sites are listed in miles. This handy guide will educate and entertain you as you paddle. In his new book Pike has compiled a rich and enjoyable assortment of his water-related essays written for a weekly column “The Water Closet” by the Middleton Stream Team and published from January 2006 through December 2011 in the Tri-Town Transcript, a community paper serving the Ipswich River watershed towns of Middleton, Boxford and Topsfield.
