SUMMARY:Welcoming Spring Equinox: Walking with Celtic Wisdom of John Muir
DESCRIPTION:\nDate: Saturday, March 21Time: 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.Location: Bradley Palmer State Park40 Asbury St., Topsfield, MA\n\n\n\nWelcome the Spring Equinox with a guided, meditative hike through the forests, meadows, and river trails of Bradley Palmer State Park. This 736-acre landscape of hardwoods, pines, and Ipswich River views offers a fitting setting to explore the nature-rooted wisdom of John Muir.\n\n\n\nAlong the trail, we will pause for readings from Muir, founder of the Sierra Club and a champion of Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks. A son of Scotland, Muir carried Celtic spiritual traditions throughout his life, seeing the natural world as sacred and alive with meaning. As he wrote, “The universe is a sacred text. The winds, the waters, the springs are all words from our Creator.”\n\n\n\nOur walk will take us past vernal pools and early signs of spring, with moments of silence woven in to deepen reflection and connection. Expect birdsong, flowing water, and the quiet work of the season turning.\n\n\n\nHike Details:\n\n\n\n\nDistance: 2–3 miles, depending on group energy\n\n\n\nDifficulty: Moderate, with uneven terrain and several steep climbs\n\n\n\nConditions: Trail conditions vary with weather\n\n\n\nPets: Not permitted\n\n\n\nSafety: Participants hike at their own risk; a liability waiver will be provided\n\n\n\n\nSign up now: \n\n\n\nFill out my LGL Form! ( https://secure.lglforms.com/form_engine/s/HePF2ywJzN9Z_Y8UfYJtHA )\n\n\n\nThe hike will be guided by Kent Harrop, Coordinator of the North Shore Spirituality in Nature Group (NS SING).\n\n\n\nThis contemplative walk offers a meaningful way to welcome spring in the company of Muir’s words and fellow nature seekers. Hosted by NS SING in partnership with Ipswich River Watershed Association. NS SING’s focus is on deepening oneness with Earth and the Divine, honoring the natural world as sacred and worthy of care and protection. Learn more at nssing.org ( http://nssing.org ).\n
