DESCRIPTION:\nSaturday, September 26, 2026 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Hood Pond, 141 Haverhill Road, Topsfield, MA 01983\n\n\n\nJoin the Ipswich River Watershed Association for BioBlitz: Participatory Science at Hood Pond, a fun, family-friendly community science event where people of all ages work together to identify plants and animals, collect environmental data, and explore the incredible biodiversity of the Ipswich River watershed.\n\n\n\nThis hands-on outdoor adventure is a chance to get outside, connect with nature, and learn how community-collected data supports ongoing efforts to restore fish habitat and build climate resilience throughout the watershed.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat to Expect\n\n\n\nActivities will be tailored to the unique habitats around Hood Pond and may include:\n\n\n\n\nPlant identification training and surveys\n\n\n\nAnimal identification training and surveys\n\n\n\nWater quality investigations, such as testing chloride levels\n\n\n\nInstruction on using the iNaturalist app ( https://www.inaturalist.org?utm_source=chatgpt.com ) to upload observations\n\n\n\n\nParticipants will learn how scientists, conservation organizations, and agencies such as MassWildlife use data collected through iNaturalist to better understand and protect wildlife and habitats across Massachusetts.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNo experience is necessary. Whether you are an avid birder, a budding botanist, or simply curious about the plants and animals in your own backyard, this event offers a meaningful way to contribute to real scientific research while enjoying a morning outdoors.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCome discover the rich biodiversity of Hood Pond and see how every observation, from frogs and fungi to trees and dragonflies, helps paint a clearer picture of watershed health.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReservations Required – RSVP will Open August 1st\n
