River Wardens

Volunteer stewards of the Ipswich River Water Trail, the River Wardens were created thanks to funding by the Department of Conservation and Recreation's Mass Trails program. River Wardens (like the Masco Environmental Club, above) regularly check their assigned section of the river and/or landing and complete the State of the Water Trail checklist. Thanks to the River Wardens, the Ipswich River Water Trail is cleaner, safer, and more enjoyable for paddlers while remaining protected as an important ecological area.

The Ipswich River Water Trail is funded by the Department of Conservation and Recreation’s Mass Trails grant program and connects all the communities on the river.
