Fundraise for the Ipswich River

Are you passionate about protecting and restoring the Ipswich River and want to motivate your friends and family to act alongside you? Create your own fundraiser to support the river!

Solo Participants

Solo Participants or Solo Paddle Raisers are participants who fundraise independently as a team of one rather than as a group. Whether you're a team of one or 75, you can help raise funds and awareness for the Ipswich River.

IRWA has partnered with Kindful so participants can create personalized fundraising pages and direct their donors to make online gifts. Before you can create a fundraiser, you must create a Kindful account. You will need to provide your email, first and last name, and a password you'd like to set for the account.

A fundraiser is the easiest way to raise money online for the Ipswich River. Log into your Kindful account to create and customize your mobile-friendly fundraising page. You can add important details about the #EndangeredIpswich, share why you're fundraising for the river, and customize your page with images, photos, and text to make it your own.

03
Share Your Fundraiser

Now you're ready to start fundraising! Copy your fundraiser's unique URL and share it with your friends and family via email, text messages, and social media (e.g., Facebook and Twitter). Ask your friends, family, and others in your community to donate to your fundraiser and help you meet your goal!

We ask every Participant to make a minimum $100 commitment to Paddle-a-thon. How you choose to fulfill that commitment is up to you. You can give $100, raise $100, or give some and raise the rest. A "give and get" approach sets you up to lead with a personal investment in your success, inspiring others by saying, "join me."

Give and/or get at least $100, and you'll receive a complimentary IRWA membership and a special edition Paddle-a-thon t-shirt. (Surprise! It's purple, and a heron features prominently in the design.)

Have Fun

Paddle-a-thon is 'friendly competition' meets 'social giving' for a worthy cause.

In a word, it's fun!

Team Leaders

Fundraising teams are groups of individual Participants or Paddle Raisers who join together to work towards a common fundraising goal, motivating and challenging each other along the way.

NOTE: Participants/Paddle Raisers can only join a team by invitation when a Team Leader invites them.

TIP: Participants/Paddle Raisers, if you want to join a team, contact the leader of the team you want to join and ask them to invite you.

IRWA has partnered with Kindful so participants can create personalized fundraising pages and direct their donors to make online gifts. Before you can create a fundraiser, you must create a Kindful account. You will need to provide your email, first and last name, and a password you'd like to set for the account.

Teams bring together individual participants who want to fundraise toward a shared goal. Use the leaderboard to track progress among members (and inspire friendly competition).

Want to fundraise with your co-workers? Neighborhood dad crew? MomBall league? Church group? Great, the more, the merrier! Recruit from your network. Note: Participants cannot join your fundraising team without an invitation. As the Team Leader, you will need to invite them by email.

Pictured here Mike Bates from Thermo Fisher Scientific's Community Action Council gives it his all in the Grand Wenham Canal Race! He and his team enjoyed a full day of Paddle-a-thon events. They started their day with a morning paddle using Riverbend's fleet. Then, Paddle Raiser (Goodie) Kathy Lindquist led them on a guided history walk through Topsfield. And, after a thrilling race, the team shared their water quality monitoring know-how with their fellow Paddle Raisers at the Paddle-a-thon party. Be like Mike! Join us as a Corporate Sponsor team!
