Contributions are critical to safeguarding the river, together. Your gift to the river makes a huge difference.
Please consider supporting any (all?) aspect of our work: Annual Appeal (Stand up for the River), River Defense Fund (Advocacy), Dam Safety and Removal, Kayak Fund (buy more kayaks for Riverbend), Freeing our Rivers and Streams (River Restoration), Riverbend, Where Needed Most or Innovation (things we’d love to try if we had the money). Thank you.
Annual Appeal When the leaves turn, the air grows crisp and the holiday season approaches, many people make tax-deductible gifts to what they hold dear. The Fall Annual Appeal is our biggest and single most important fund-drive of the year. Give what you can, support what you love and restore the Ipswich River for future generations. Please include the Ipswich River in your year-end giving by giving online now or mailing your check to PO Box 576, Ipswich MA 01938. Thank you.
Gifts of Land Your generous gift of land will create an enduring legacy to be shared with our children, our children’s children and generations to come. To discuss, please contact Wayne Castonguay, Executive Director, at 978-412-8200 or email@example.com.
In Kind Donations We have a long Wish List of items we need including kayaks, paddles, life jackets, easels, folding tables and more. Contact Trish Aldrich, Development Director, at 978-412-8200 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

Memorial and Tribute Gifts Celebrate the special ones and events in your life. We are honored to carry on our work in their name. Many of us have enough stuff, and appreciate gifts that make the world a better place. Consider making a gift to recognize the river lover in your life or milestones such as birthdays, adoptions, anniversaries, Christmas, deaths, Father’s Day, graduations, new jobs, summer solstice or River Month (June).
Chloe’s favorite place in the world was Ipswich River Park in North Reading where she spent countless happy hours with her humans walking, riding in the canoe and swimming. Her humans made a gift in her memory. We are honored to receive gifts in memory of all river lovers – furry, feathered, finned, shelled or otherwise.
With dogged persistence, Executive Director Kerry Mackin worked to keep the Ipswich River out of danger for decades. Kerry retired from her job in 2012, but not from loving rivers. Celebrate her inspiring leadership and help build the next generation of river leaders by making a gift in her honor. To date, we’ve raised over $40,000 toward our $60,000 goal to create a Leave a Legacy Fund with income to support an annual Kerry Mackin Intern and more.
Make a gift in memory of Dr. Petranek, who passed on January 21, 2012 at his Brooksby Village home. In 1965 Dr. Bob built Riverbend, the house we now call home. He wanted to ensure the property he loved would be permanently preserved by an organization that would love and take care of it as he had. He vetted IRWA for a few years before making the most transformational gift in our 35 year history by donating his property as our headquarters. We are forever grateful. In accordance with his wishes, donations may be made in his memory online or by mail.
Other Ways to Give If you are interested in offering a matching gift, remembering the Ipswich River in your will or making a gift of securities, please contact Trish Aldrich, Development Director, at 978-412-8200 or email@example.com.
