Prepare for your trip:

  • Sign in or sign up for membership.
  • Wear quick-dry clothing if possible and shoes that will stay on your feet.
  • Apply bug spray.
  • Leave your electronics in the car.
  • Alternatively, double-bag your phone in sealable plastic bags OR use a dry bag.
  • Use the bathroom before heading over. We have one porta-potty available if needed, but it is by no means a luxury experience!

PADDLE CONDITIONS

River conditions changing regularly due to rain, drought, and more. Checking the flow level before you head out will help ensure everyone in your party is prepared.

We keep track of Ipswich River flow levels by monitoring the United States Geological Survey (USGS) streamflow gage, which records data in real-time on the Ipswich River in Ipswich. Scroll down to the first chart, "Discharge, cubic feet per second":

Check the flow level and then reference this chart:

Moderate 150 - 250

Quick and Tricky 250 - 400
