Summer Positions Now Available!

Exciting summer opportunities are available to facilitate paddling outings for youth groups on the Ipswich River and provide educational programs.

The Ipswich River Watershed Association is offering two great opportunities this summer to facilitate environmental education outings for youth on the Ipswich River.

We are seeking a Seasonal Environmental Education Apprentice to plan and present river-focused educational programs to school and community youth groups. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to help plan and facilitate youth groups on paddling outings and present educational program on the natural history of the river and other topics. There is access to a variety of habitats at our headquarters and beyond and programs can focus on a wide range of river related topics. The position will be for 35 hrs. per week and last for 12 weeks during the summer of 2018. This is a paid position and will be ideal for a student or recent graduate with a keen interest in environmental education and river protection. We are also seeking a Seasonal Environmental Education Volunteer Intern to assist, part-time, with river education programs. The volunteer intern will assist with planning and facilitating paddling outings and presenting educational programs. Opportunities will also be available to gain exposure to other aspects of our work. The volunteer position will be for 20-30 hrs. per week for 10-12 weeks during the summer of 2018. This position is ideal for a student looking to gain experience in environmental education and exposure to other aspects of working within a community-based environmental organization.
