Make a Splash for the Ipswich River!

Above The Winthrop Family saves our streams as a team on a tubing trip down the river.

Are you ready to make a splash for the Ipswich River? In the midst of a pandemic and severe drought, last year’s Paddle Raisers set new records for fun had and funds raised,  netting $57,000. We hope all of the participants feel great about making a difference during such uncertain times. And as their many stories, photos, and videos show, they also had a fantastic time!

Are you going to join the fun this year? With a nod to Paddle Raisers who challenged themselves to explore more of the watershed in 2020, we are hosting events this spring all along the river. These events are free and open to the public (within space limitations) and we hope they inspire your own Paddle-a-thon adventures and stories.

How can you make a splash for the Ipswich River?

Step 1: Register for Paddle-a-thon today!

Registration is open so sign up today, get us off to a great start and reserve your fetching Paddle-a-thon 2021 t-shirt. Go solo, join in with friends and family, or show your company pride!

Step 2: Put the FUN in fundraising by making a splash for the river.

Set a challenge for yourself, join in on a fellow Paddle Raiser’s challenge, or participate as a team to give or get a suggested minimum $100 per Paddle Raiser. Need some inspiration? Check out stories from last year’s Paddle Raisers including Joel, Amy, Ken, Dick, Sally, and Dan. We’ll be sharing more challenges and stories from this year’s individual Paddle Raisers and teams like the Middleton Stream Team, the Headwater Heroes, and the Greater Newburyport Drone Pilots.

Step 2.5: Connect with your local river community!

This year, we’re collaborating with our friends at the Charles River and Mystic River Watershed Associations on a 3 Rivers Challenge. Participants in Paddle-a-thon, the Run of the Charles, and/or the Mystic Herring Run & Paddle can connect and inspire each other on a joint facebook group (coming soon!). You might make a life-long friend, and every hour spent on or along one of these rivers brings you closer to winning an amazing prize from our sponsors Newbury Kayak & Canoe!

Step 3: Join us in celebrating the Ipswich River and the efforts of all the amazing Paddle Raisers on June 19th.

We plan on gathering at the Topsfield Fairgrounds this year, in some capacity, so mark your calendar and save the date!

Enjoy the Paddle-a-thon 2021 cheat sheet below. Share it with a friend who loves to have a good time for a great cause. And thank you to all our past and returning Paddle Raisers. You are what makes Paddle-a-thon worth doing, year after year.
