Thank you to everyone who was able to join us at our Annual Meeting at Lincoln Hall in Boxford, and thank you Charles Costello, Chair of the Boxford Board of Selectmen, for the very warm welcome.
After we applauded Chris Sandulli for her 4+ years of service as Board President, we welcomed Dick Jacobson into his new role as Board President, and thanked retiring board members Miriam Lasher, Greg Murrer, Painey Metcalf, and Don Bowen.
Our biggest shout out was to our volunteers and members who are the real engine behind our organization. We thank you for all you’ve done and ask that you continue to support us and the river by joining in on future events and projects.
In keeping with the theme of individual action having great potential for helping the river, Mass Water Policy Director Vandana Rao, Ph.D. gave a very interesting talk on the necessity of communities rethinking water use and making water conservation a priority in development.
We have lots of things to look forward to in the coming year, such as the completion of phase II of our Ipswich River Water Trail project, funded by a grant from the Essex National Heritage Commission, another Images on the Water photo show (start taking photos now!), and more new events. Aid us in another successful year by joining us in raising funds and awareness for the river at our annual Paddle-a-thon event and by participating in our #4ourRiver sustainable landscapes campaign.
