New Kayak Launch at Riverbend

If you’ve recently visited the dock at our Riverbend headquarters, you’ll have noticed our most recent addition: a kayak launch. Entering and exiting a kayak from a dock requires a different technique than entering from a sloped landing, and it can be a tricky endeavor! We want everyone to be able to get out on the river and enjoy it, and getting into a boat is the first step.

Using the Kayak Launch

• Use of the launch is strictly for kayaks; please do not attempt to use the launch for a canoe.
• To use the launch, place your kayak into the water off the front of the dock, and lead it into the launch channel.
• The bar is there to provide added stability as you enter and exit your kayak. Do not attempt to pull yourself up on it or swing on it.
• Do not stand up in your kayak!
• Lead your kayak back around to the front of the dock to take it out of the water.
