Over 200 people celebrated Executive Director Kerry Mackin’s retirement and IRWA’s 35th Anniversary on June 22, 2012. We enjoyed each other’s company, told river tales, listened to a terrific concert by Miranda Russell and her 5 piece band and sang Down in the River to Pray” together. Essex County Greenbelt’s Ed Becker, CDC water expert and former IRWA staffer Daniele Lantagne, Mass River Alliance Executive Director Julia Blatt, DFW Commissioner Mary Griffin, DER Director Tim Purinton and others gave glowing tributes to Kerry. Thanks to concert proceeds and donations in Kerry’s honor, over $35,000 was raised for the Leave a Legacy Fund‹¨›span id‹´›‹²›more-6599‹²›‹˜›‹¨›/span‹˜›, with income to support Tune into the River projects, including Summer Internships for students and paddling trips for kids.‹¨›/p‹˜›‹¨›p‹˜›Institution for Savings provided generous leadership support.
