Patton Property Walk

The Patton Homestead property is the Town of Hamilton’s access to the river. Joanne Holbrook Patton gifted the 27 acre property abutting the river in 2012, and the town has ambitions of improving the property for public use. The existing trail off Asbury Street features a small floating dock downriver from Pine Island in the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary. This walk may be particularly interesting for veterans as the Patton Homestead has the unique history of having been the home of two famous American Generals and veteran support was central to Mrs. Patton’s philanthropy and activities for many years.
