The Dam Paddle

Join us for a scenic paddle to the Ipswich Mills Dam and back as we explore a stretch of the river on the cusp of major change. You’ll be joined by Neil Shea, IRWA’s Restoration Program Director and project lead for the Ipswich Mills Dam Removal.

This is a rare chance to experience the river as it is now—and learn what’s to come. Neil will share updates on the dam removal process, what it means for the health of the river, and what changes you might see in the months and years ahead.

Kayaks and canoes are available courtesy of IRWA, including paddles and life jackets, or you are welcome to bring your own. This experience is best for those with basic kayaking or canoeing skills and sufficient core and arm strength for upstream paddling.
