Macroinvertebrate Monitoring Volunteer Training

Saturday, September 27th, 10am-noon

Do you love wading in streams? Want to contribute to our scientific understanding of the Ipswich River? Need an excuse to look at a bunch of bugs? Have some community service hours to fulfill for school? You should be a macroinvertebrate monitoring volunteer this fall!

Join us on Saturday, September 27th for a hands-on, in-stream training with fellow volunteer scientists. Once you’ve completed your training, you will be able to collect macroinvertebrates from one of our sampling sites across the watershed.

Get some field experience, learn about the incredible world of benthic macroinvertebrates, and splash around with like-minded individuals! Kids and teens are welcome if accompanied by an adult.

Wear rain boots or waders and clothes that can get dirty/wet. If you need to borrow a pair of boots or waders, let us know ASAP and we will see what we have available to lend. Please contact Emma Hughen with any questions.
