Hello Ipswich River enthusiasts! My name is Aidan Davie and I’m back as a second-year restoration intern here at IRWA. Like the other interns, I have my hand in many things including creating and maintaining a new mini trail system that runs next to the boat launch, making the space around the garage (a little bit) more visually appealing, as well as my main project being revamping the River Warden program started by Ryan O’Donnell that puts responsibility into the hands of our wonderful volunteers. Over the course of the summer, I was able to design and launch a new survey powered by ArcGIS that will allow river paddlers to inform staff members about obstructions that may hinder travel without the need to call the office. Hopefully in the near future this will be completely public and people will be able to see where obstructions are so that they can plan their paddle more effectively. I was so glad to be back at IRWA and a part of such a wonderful organization!
