HOLIDAY PRINTMAKING (WITH FISH!)

Join us for some hands-on holiday fun in Downtown Ipswich! We’ll be repurposing real fish (shad, originally used for scientific research) and making beautiful and unique prints which can be used for gifts, decorations, cards, or anything your heart desires!

This free event takes place on the Ipswich Middle Green, near the Hall Haskell House in Ipswich and is open to the public.

We’ll be hanging out along side Ipswich Evergreen – a free make-you-own-wreath event , come down and enjoy an afternoon of community and crafting!

Why print fish? This process is called Gyotaku and is a the traditional Japanese method of printing fish. Originally a way for fishermen to record what they caught, this record-keeping practice has also become an art form of its own.
