Fungi of New England Lunch & Learn
When: Tuesday, August 18th, 12:00–1:00 PM
Where: Zoom
Join us for a virtual lunch-and-learn on the fungi of New England! This talk is ideal for foragers with some prior mushroom experience—whether you learned about local species growing up, or you’re familiar with mushrooms from another region and want to get to know New England’s fungi.
We’ll cover common genera found throughout the area, including Boletes, Amanitas, Russulas, Chanterelles, Craterellus, Hydnum, Pleurotus, and other local genera, plus a look at medicinal mushrooms. The presentation is richly illustrated with photos and includes practical resources you can use in the field. A Q&A session will follow.
This program is led by Jana Harris of Essex Forays, Owner and Founder, Host and Producer of Fungi Finders at Essex Forays and who is certified in Wild Mushroom Food Safety and a member of the Boston Mycological Club.
