Friday Night Mothlight Night – Members Only
When: Friday, June 5, 2026 | 8:45 PM – 10:30 PM
Where: Riverbend, Ipswich River Watershed Association Headquarters 143 County Road, Ipswich
Members are invited to join us after dark for a magical evening of moth watching at Riverbend!
Jack Forrester of the Caterpillar Lab will be on site with his illuminated sheet and special lights to attract moths. We’ll also spend time searching the nearby habitats for native caterpillars. Moth activity peaks as the night deepens, so we’ll be staying well past sunset — come ready to explore!
Schedule
- 8:45 PM — Arrival
- 9:00 PM — Descend to the moth viewing area
- 10:30 PM — Program ends
What to Bring & Wear:
- Flashlight
- Water
- Layered clothing appropriate for the weather
- Sturdy footwear for walking trails to the viewing site
- Bug spray
A Note on Riverbend: Riverbend is a wild, natural area. Please plan to do a thorough tick check after the event, and be aware that poison ivy may be present along the trails.
