About the Allyn Cox Reservation

Settled as a colonial salt marsh farm by 1648, this property was a dairy farm and apple orchard for over 350 years. Muralist Allyn Cox later used its 1863 barn as a studio, and donated the property to Greenbelt in 1974. Today it serves as Greenbelt’s headquarters and a venue for events like the annual Art in the Barn exhibition.
